Umeda Sky Building｜You Can See The Entire Osaka Here

You can’t miss the Umeda Sky Building when you come to Osaka!

This towering building is not only a symbol of Osaka but also an excellent viewing spot. Standing on the observation deck, you have a panoramic view of the entire city, which is stunning day and night!

The observatory is located in the Umeda District in the center of Osaka. The Umeda Sky Building towers into the sky at a height of 173 meters and 40 stories high.

Standing here, it seems time has slowed down, and every look is a deep admiration for this city.

Location and Opening Time

On the day we visited the Umeda Sky Building, we also arranged to visit the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living. It’s about half an hour away by subway, or you can also arrange to spend a day in the Umeda District.

Ticket purchase and payment methods（Osaka pass is free of charge）

There are two main payment methods:

• Free： Admission is free before 15:00 with the Osaka Amazing Pass or Osaka E-Pass. After 15:00, you can enjoy a 20% discount on tickets. If you look at the original price below, you will know how cost-effective it is to buy an Osaka Pass!

• Fees are based on age: 2,000 yen for 13-year-olds and above, 500 yen for 4 to 12-year-olds, free for children under 4.

You can check in at the automatic ticket machine or reception counter on the 39th floor of the Sky Garden.

Inside tour of Umeda Sky Building

The entrance to the Umeda Building looks like this↓. There is also a building next to it. Fang and I first followed the Google map and went to the wrong place. If you look up, you will find that there is a corridor between two buildings. Look for the “FUN FUN PLAZA” at the entrance~

After entering, you will see the KUCHU TEIEN introduction wall on the third floor, which flaunts the concept of a blue building and integration with the sky.

There are three main floors in total: 39F, 40F, and the rooftop 360-degree observation deck.

And….you will see a long queue of people waiting for the elevator!

Maybe because we happened to come on a Sunday, we had to wait in line for about 20 to 30 minutes. In addition, there are only two elevators, and the elevators have to go back and forth to 39F (scary enough).

There are staff on the side who are responsible for counting lines and guiding people to take the elevator.

After reaching the 39th floor, you will face the nightmare of acrophobia: a high-altitude elevator and the bottom is completely hollow!

This elevator is the way to the 40th floor. If you want to go to the sky garden, you will take this way.

Looking at the scenery outside will immediately make your feet weak. After all, it is broad daylight and it is difficult to pretend that you cannot see இдஇ

As soon as you exit the elevator on the 40th floor, you will see Cafe Sky 40. With the great sunshine, if you have time, you can sit and experience it. It is very chill.

40F is also a circular tour route. If you continue walking, you will see The Heart-shaped Padlock and other Gashapon to play with.

However, it should be noted that The Heart-shaped Padlock daily quantity is limited.

Try to arrive as early as possible, you can engrave the super romantic date ~

If you want to go up to the Skywalk, you have to go this way. Don’t worry if you have difficulty moving. There is a small elevator nearby that can go directly to it.

The observation deck can overlook the entire Osaka 360 degrees, and you can see the elevator nightmare just in the middle.

At night, there will be a Milky Way light spot design on the floor of the observation deck! It’s a bonus to watch the night view with your lover at night.

The top floor is beautiful from any angle. When we came in the afternoon, we could see the sunset slowly setting over the river.

I couldn’t help but sigh in my heart: Japan is a great place, no wonder many people like to travel here ~ with this weather! What a sight!

If you are traveling to Osaka with your lover, it is highly recommended to come here to have some romance and enjoy the night view at night~But if you’re afraid of heights like me, well…

I think you could consider it because the bottom of the middle elevator corridor is hollow and it is 40 stories high. It will make your feet weak!

It is super cost-effective to visit this attraction for free with the pass. If you have enough time, it is also a good choice to sit here and experience Osaka leisurely in the cafe (*´∀`)~♥
